Gramercy Tower, Cardiff
Negotiated from concept design, Intelle was awarded the design and construction of 188 build-to-rent apartments over 28 storeys with associated sky gardens and commercial space on Curran Road, just behind Cardiff Central Station and adjacent to the hugely successful Brickworks.
Built in the heart of Cardiff City, the project will comprise of demolition of existing Crawshay Court Building with a new 28 story concrete frame, use of unitised façade system key to achieving water tightness to progress finishes early in the programme.
Modern Methods of Construction:
Whilst Gramercy Tower will be constructed using the traditional Reinforced Concrete Frame the façade is built from a prefabricated, high-performance unitised façade system using highly insulated panels clad in a selection of premium rainscreen materials including unitised curtain walling with opening vents. The construction process will see the façade built from first floor up. As the envelope is constructed floors are sealed off to the façade system creating a weathertight seal to allow the internal fit out to commence early in a watertight environment.
