Dan Y Mynydd Extra Care Home

Dan Y Mynydd Extra Care Home comprises the design and construction of a new 60 bed extra care home facility for the elderly with associated communal areas and external works.
The project involves site clearance and the re-engineering of the existing profiled site to including retaining structures and soil stabilisation of the surrounding embankments.

The new care home building is constructed in a Light Gauge steel Frame (LGSF) with elements of hot rolled steel to allow the open communal areas on the ground floor. The envelope construction is a mix of brickwork, render, standing seam cladding, with feature stone walling and timber cladding. External space is provided to all units with feature glazed balconies and external patios at ground level.
All flats are fully fitted out with kitchens and bathrooms and all associated mechanical and electrical systems to provide an energy efficient property to EPC A rating. The communal areas have all necessary amenities for an Extra Care Home with lounge, dining and entertainment areas and a fully functional commercial kitchen. The building will achieve BREEAM Excellent and have a range of renewable and sustainable operational services.
