235 Queenstown Road, Battersea
This project was the redevelopment of No 235 Queenstown Road in Battersea, creating 9 luxury residential apartments in a new 4 storey building. The project involves careful demolition of the existing disused commercial building, and the reconstruction of the Queenstown Road elevation using salvaged London yellow and red stock bricks to maintain the architectural and historic interest of the building’s façade in this Conservation area.
The new structural steel frame building will have composite concrete slabs with a new lift shaft and a feature steel staircase. The facades will be clad in the brickwork to match the existing, copper rainscreen cladding with traditional timber windows in the rebuilt façade and modern aluminium windows with frameless glass balustrades to the extended areas. The roof is a mixture of single ply flat roof and traditional slate roofing to the higher section.
The internal finishes include fully fitted kitchens with Corian worktops, fitted wardrobes and timber floors with bathrooms and ensuites fully tiled. The M&E includes a new lift, new gas, water and electric installations throughout with underfloor heating, communications and security installations including audio visual door entry system.
