Arbor Vale, Dinas Powys
The former Bryneithin Nursing Home off St Andrew’s Road, which closed in 2013 was developed into an age exclusive residential development consisting of 24 properties for people over the age of 50.
The scheme consists of three and four-bedroom townhouses and two-bedroom apartments built by traditional methods of construction on a sloping site. Elevations were a mix of brickwork and zinc cladding with a elements of pitched slate roofs and single ply membrane flat roofs, with feature balconies in frameless glass creating a modern contemporary look and feel to the development. All properties had high-specification finishes and materials including appliances provided by hand-picked suppliers such as Roca, Laufen, Quinn and Bosch.
Homeowners have the opportunity to live in an age-exclusive development designed with relaxed living and entertaining in mind. It also allows residents to feel part of the wider Dinas Powys community whilst enjoying the privacy and seclusion of living at the end of a tree-lined driveway with extensive external landscaping and private gardens.
The development also benefits from being low-maintenance and energy efficient.
