National Museum of Wales

Project Overview

The project entailed the redevelopment and remodelling of the existing museum gallery space together with associated roof works.

The majority of the west wing roof had a temporary protective over-roofing arrangement to fully protect the museum interiors. This allowed the existing gallery space and associated to be stripped out and remodelled.

Works at roof level included; specialist stonework repairs, re-rendering of parapet walls and the removal and re-instalment of glazing to roof lanterns. The existing M&E installations were replaced to provide new conditioned gallery spaces with new power, controlled lighting and fire detection and security systems.
